Морфологические модели названий лекарственных средств и болезней в абхазском языке

Abstract

In the Abkhazian language most words designating remedies and illnesses are compounds. In the most cases the key word a-x˚š˚ ‘medicine’ is present in their structure. As for their structure, word combinations can be divided into different nominal models consisting of Noun + Noun, Noun + Adjective and mixed forms. The mixed ones consist of Noun and Verb. The given lexical layer represents an innovation in the Abkhazian language and is constantly developing (the same concerns the whole medical terminology of the Abkhazian language).
