The domain of "bread" in Anglo-Saxon culture
Abstract
The language signs denominating different aspects of the concept of "bread" and the development of the semiosis in this domain have been described. Some examples from the Anglo-Saxon vocabulary and texts are reviewed and instances of language sign functioning are categorized and explained.
