Русская диаспора в Японии: история, проблемы существования и сохранения русского языка

Abstract

In 1985 in Japan there were only 322 Russians with permanent residence status, but in the last ten years the number of Russians who live and work in Japan permanently has increased 30 times. The author describes the story of Russian diaspora in Japan from 1918 until nowadays, their attitude to the Russian language and the status of their language competence.
